Nearly 5,000 Florida families have opened their homes and hearts to some of the state's 13,500 children in crisis. While these dedicated and compassionate foster parents do their best, their efforts are hindered by a system that is not equipped to adequately serve the needs of these children.

Student Commentary: 'My life has been both worse and better than many'
It is not what people tell you to do that shapes your life forever, it is what you choose to do despite, and because of, what they tell you. It is also who we choose to let influence us that can make a difference. I never realized that until this moment.
